CNC Programmer/Operator

Operator Responsibilities:
- Configuring CNC machines by inputting instructions and loading raw materials.
- Running the machines to perform tasks like drilling, grinding, milling, and cutting.
- Performing routine checks to make sure the machine is running smoothly.
- Utilize a multitude of fabrication equipment, such as metal press brakes, punches, shears, a drill press, and all types of saws.
- Build from drawings, ensuring accuracy in dimensions, angles, spacing, and structural stability.
- Thoroughly inspect the completed parts to guarantee superior quality.
- Prioritize work orders in congruence with shipping date and production time.
- Receive instructions and work specifications from the supervisor and perform proper execution.
- Perform other general labor tasks when instructed by the supervisor.
- Follow workplace safety protocols and maintain a clean work environment.
Responsibilities for CNC Programmer
- Read technical drawings and set up the machines in accordance with these blueprints.
- Use Mastercam software to model cutting paths and program machines accordingly.
- Perform quality assurance tests to ensure products meet design specifications.
- Adjust machine cutting paths or settings to optimize production while maintaining quality.
- Consider the tools required to cut different materials and program machines accordingly.
- Troubleshoot and resolve problems with machines as they arise.
- Make any fixtures or new tooling necessary for speeding up fabrication in other shop departments.
- Perform basic machine maintenance such as cleaning, replacing filters, and checking oil levels.
Qualifications for CNC Programmer
- Previous experience working in a manufacturing setting is required.
- Good understanding of G and M code.
- Good understanding of optimal speeds and feeds for fast machining and max tool life span.
- Must have strong attention to detail.
- Familiarity and skill with interpreting technical drawings and blueprints.
- Can use tools for inspections of parts such as indicators, calipers, micrometers, and tape measures. For providing quality parts for the shop for easier fabrication.
Employment Requirements:
- 5 years of experience required.
- Must be able to lift over 50 lbs. consistently.
- Must be able to bend, climb, squat, and stand consistently.
- Blueprint reading (required).
- Tape reading (Required).
- Mechanical aptitude
- Attention to detail
- Familiarity with CAD/CAM software
