Position Overview

The Field Service Recovery Technician is the primary field operator for Hudson's mobile refrigerant recovery services. This role performs on-site recovery at job sites, maintains service vehicles and recovery equipment, refrigerant cylinder consolidation, customer interaction and demand generation and ensures all activities are digitally tracked and compliant with safety and environmental standards. This is a field-based role for someone who is mechanically skilled, tech-savvy, and passionate about doing meaningful, hands-on work that directly contributes to environmental protection


Roles and Responsibilities

  1. Work with management and sales to build new customers and maintain client base

  2. Strive to meet gas recovery and buyback goals

  3. Travel to customers or work sites (e.g., HVAC contractors, mechanical shops, chiller plants) daily to carry out recovery of refrigerant and collect refrigerant recovered by customers

  4. Set up and operate recovery machines, recovery cylinders, hoses, and other field tools

  5. Complete digital work orders including equipment details, refrigerant weights, job documentation, and customer sign-off in a timely manner

  6. Identify and communicate potential sales opportunities for recovery, cylinder exchange, and refrigerant buyback

  7. Maintain vehicle safety, inventory control, and readiness of all field equipment. Take proper care of assigned vehicle by keeping it clean, in good condition and maintained according to the manual.

  8. Represent Hudson Technologies with professionalism and a commitment to safety and service excellence

  9. Ensure compliance with all DOT, EPA, and OSHA regulations

  10. Follow company processes, procedures, safety standards and schedules with respect to daily activities. Provide reporting on job progress for added visibility.

  11. Demonstrate orientation toward excellent customer service by conducting daily activities, communications, and interactions in a cooperative, positive, and professional manner.

  12. Assist with depot shipping/receiving and delivery of product and equipment with respect to recovered refrigerant.

  13. Perform maintenance on company equipment to ensure performance when in use.

  14. Use Microsoft Teams and other digital platforms to communicate with the operations and sales team.

  15. Perform any other duties as assigned


Required Skills

  1. Self-motivated and driven to succeed

  2. Excellent technical, communication, and organizational skills

  3. Experience with a proven track record in customer satisfaction

  4. Clean and valid state driver's license

  5. Knowledge of Industrial Cooling and Refrigeration Systems

  6. Strong technical/computer skills - daily use of CRM, Microsoft Teams, digital work orders, and tablets

  7. CDL Class B with HazMat Endorsement or ability to obtain within 90 days (required condition of employment)

  8. EPA 608 universal certification required

  9. HazMat experience a plus

  10. DOT Medical Card preferred

  11. Familiarity with common MS Office tools (MSOffice)

  12. Must pass DOT physical, background check, and drug screening

  13. Willingness to work outdoors and travel within the assigned territory

  14. Must have the ability (required documentation) to travel domestically via aircraft when needed.


  • Required Education and Experience
    A high school diploma or GED is required

  1. 3-5 years of related industry or mechanical experience

Physical Demands:

  1. Must be able to work outside in the weather-related elements

  2. A lot of time will be spent in the truck, driving

  3. This position entails very heavy work which requires exerting in excess of 100 pounds of force occasionally (possibly up to 350 pounds), and/or in excess of 75 pounds of force frequently, and/or in excess of 50 pounds of force constantly to move/lift objects

  4. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, sit, walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, and talk or hear





Compensation details: 26-35 Hourly Wage
