The Role The Sub Foreman is the Foreman's right hand on every project. When the Foreman is on site, you're a working electrician performing hands-on installation at a journeyman level or above. When the Foreman is off site, you step into the lead, directing the crew, managing job site operations, and holding the standard for quality, safety, and schedule. The Sub Foreman is often assigned to special or more technical tasks overseeing a smaller dedicated crew. This role is built for an experienced electrician with natural leadership ability who is ready to own a job when called upon What You'll Do Direct the crew and manage all site operations whenever the Foreman is off site, serving as the owner and PM point of contact Perform hands-on electrical installation work alongside the crew when the Foreman is present Install conduit systems, MC cable, wire, panels, switchgear, and devices per NEC and project specifications Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and single-line diagrams Troubleshoot electrical faults and determine corrective action efficiently Monitor crew productivity, work quality, and safety compliance throughout the day Support apprentices and less experienced electricians on trade techniques and best practices Maintain accurate daily reports, timesheets, and site documentation What We're Looking For 3-5 years of commercial and/or industrial electrical field experience Demonstrated ability to lead a crew and keep work on track independently Strong working knowledge of NEC and local electrical codes Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and single-line diagrams NY State Journeyman Electrician License preferred; active apprenticeship with strong field experience considered OSHA 10 required within 90 days of hire; OSHA 30 a plus Formal foreman experience not required, prior working lead or crew lead experience is what we're looking for Why CVM We take care of the people who keep that legacy going.
