Job Description

Our client, a reputable community health organization dedicated to providing comprehensive and culturally sensitive primary care, is hiring a Physician Assistant (PA) for Family Medicine to join their expanding team. This is an excellent opportunity for motivated, experienced PAs or new graduates with exceptional training to make a meaningful impact on a vibrant, diverse population. In this role, you will deliver high-quality primary care services to patients across all ages, from infants to seniors, within a supportive multidisciplinary team. You will manage a wide range of healthcare needs, including chronic disease management (diabetes, hypertension, asthma, HIV, gender affirmation care), preventive health, and acute issues. The position emphasizes patient-centered care, collaboration with physicians and support staff, and navigating a variety of medical conditions in a fast-paced setting. Flexibility to work a 35-hour workweek with a balanced schedule, including occasional late evenings and optional Saturday half-days, promotes a healthier work-life balance.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide comprehensive primary care to patients of all ages, including treatment, diagnostics, health education, and preventive services.
  • Manage chronic conditions such as diabetes, hypertension, HIV, and mental health issues.
  • Conduct physical examinations, order and interpret laboratory tests, and develop individualized care plans.
  • Collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary team-including nurse practitioners, physicians, specialists, and support staff-to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
  • Document clinical encounters accurately within the Electronic Clinician's Unit (ECU) EMR system.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives, meet performance targets, and contribute to patient experience and satisfaction metrics.
  • Adhere to organizational protocols and maintain professional development to stay current with evidence-based practices.

Requirements:

  • Valid Physician Assistant license and certification in good standing.
  • Minimum of 1-5 years of experience in outpatient Family Medicine or a strong training background through fellowships, residencies, or comprehensive rotations (e.g., Duke-style FM rotations).
  • Experience with pediatric and adult patients, with the ability to treat ages 0-99.
  • Bilingual skills in Spanish are highly preferred due to the predominantly Dominican community served; bilingual candidates or those willing to utilize translation tools are encouraged to apply.
  • Strong clinical skills, cultural competency, and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Must be a US citizen or a J1 visa holder transitioning to H-1B; H-1 visas are not accepted.
  • Demonstrated commitment to providing equitable, high-quality primary care.

Some of the Benefits:

  • Competitive salary range
  • Generous paid time off
  • Work schedule of 35 hours per week, Monday through Friday, with limited late nights and optional Saturday half-days.
  • Opportunities for professional growth with a growing organization, expanding clinics, and a supportive team environment.
