Adelphi is seeking a Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) to provide nursing services in a school setting located in San Antonio, Texas.The ideal candidate will assist in delivering nursing services to students under the supervision of a registered nurse or school health administrator, in accordance with established guidelines and standards of practice.Job Quick Facts: ID: BD-1298-02 Profession: Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) Specialty: Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) Location: San Antonio, Texas Facility Type: School Job Type: Contract Shift Schedule: Mon-Fri 8 hours a day Rate: $ 35Requirements: Active Texas Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) License Current CPR/BLS certification Recent pediatric nursing experience (minimum of two (2) years) Experience supporting students with complex medical needs Ability to travel between campuses if assigned to multiple students Strong assessment, communication, and documentation skillResponsibilities: Provide direct nursing care to students under the supervision of a Registered Nurse when required Assist with one-on-one care for medically fragile students Perform procedures such as tracheostomy care, nebulizer treatments, suctioning, catherization, vagal nerve stimulator, and emergency airway management when needed Support campus clinic operations and student health needs Assist with special procedures and treatments during the school day Monitor student health status and report changes to supervising nurse Maintain and check oxygen cylinder daily, if used or stored in the school, for specified students Administer medications and treatments according to physician orders Assist in recognizing medical emergencies and initiating appropriate response Maintain accurate student health documentation and service logs Collaborate with teachers, school nurses, and school staff to support student health Participate in school health programs, trainings, and meetings Any other duties as assigned
