JOB OVERVIEW Job Title: Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist Job Type: Locum Tenens Location: Charleston, SC Service Setting: Inpatient/Outpatient Coverage Type: Clinical Only Coverage Period: February 23, 2026 Ongoing Clinical Shift Schedule: Full Time; 6a7:30p or 8a9:30p (13.5-hour shifts, 0.5 hr unpaid lunch) COVERAGE DATES Ongoing full-time coverage beginning February 23, 2026 Minimum 3-month commitment required Option to extend beyond initial term PATIENT INFORMATION Patient Demographics: Adults Patient Volume/Census: Approximately 35 cases per day Admissions: Surgical Case Mix: General anesthesia, neuro and spine, orthopedics, oncology, ENT, GYN, urology; no blocks, no OB, no cardiac cases FACILITY INFORMATION No. of Beds in Department: 21 Operating Rooms Trauma Level: Level I EMR System: Epic Office Equipment Available: Standard anesthesia equipment Specialty Backup Available: Full surgical specialty support Support Staff Available: Large CRNA practice group with physician anesthesiology supervision, OR RNs, Surgical Teams PRIVILEGES & COMPLIANCE Hospital Privileges Required: Yes Credentialing Timeline: Approximately 60 days REQUIRED PROCEDURES General anesthesia case management Neuro and spine anesthesia support Orthopedic and oncologic anesthesia coverage JOB REQUIREMENTS Licenses: Active South Carolina license Board: National CRNA certification required Certifications: Active CRNA certification Experience: Minimum 3+ years of CRNA experience Other Qualifications: Proficiency with Epic EMR and flexibility to work across multiple campus locations, must reside more than 60 miles from facility per MUSC policy DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES Provide anesthesia care in a medically directed academic practice Support surgical services across main hospital and affiliated outpatient locations Manage anesthesia for a variety of surgical specialties and procedures Collaborate with anesthesiologists, surgeons, and perioperative staff Document all anesthesia care accurately in Epic EMR
