Requirements to Apply
  • Washington Respiratory Care Practitioner License (active at time of hire)
  • BLS certification through the American Heart Association
  • Education/training that meets state requirements for Respiratory Care Practitioners
  • Ability to operate and maintain ventilatory support systems, monitoring and resuscitation equipment, oxygen therapy devices, and perform respiratory procedures
  • Strong ability to collaborate with physicians and nurses in a high-acuity environment
  • Effective communication skills, reliability, and professionalism

Respiratory Care Practitioner Job in Spokane, WA Nights Children s Hospital Float NICU/PICU/Core

Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled Respiratory Care Practitioner to join a highly specialized team, supporting the NICU, PICU, and Core units. This full-time night shift role (36 hours/week, 7pm 7am) is ideal for practitioners who thrive in acute pediatric and neonatal settings and want to work within a collaborative, patient-centered environment.

In this role, you ll provide comprehensive respiratory care, assist with ventilatory support, perform patient assessments, support resuscitation efforts, and partner closely with physicians and nurses in planning and implementing patient care plans. You will complete both department and unit-specific orientation to ensure full readiness across all children s services.

What Are the Responsibilities?
  • Deliver safe, high-quality respiratory therapy for infants, children, and adolescents
  • Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot complex ventilators, monitoring systems, and resuscitation equipment
  • Perform respiratory procedures including oxygen therapy, airway management, patient assessments, and diagnostic support
  • Assist physicians during procedures and support bedside interventions
  • Collaborate with nurses and multidisciplinary teams to support plan-of-care development
  • Document patient responses, therapy interventions, and equipment usage in accordance with hospital standards
  • Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory requirements
  • Float between NICU, PICU, and core pediatric services as needed
