Job Description Job Description Senior Network Engineer DESCRIPTION: Design, implement, test, secure and operate the mission network infrastructure at NASA's Wallops Flight Facility (WFF). Develop and maintain the multicast network supporting extensive video and range endpoints Monitor network performance and ensure system availability and reliability. Maximize network performance, troubleshoot network problems and outages. Secure network systems by implementing security controls and establishing and enforcing policies; defining and monitoring access via Cisco ISE. Report network status by gathering and prioritizing information. Support network related projects. Configure and install various network devices and services (switches, firewalls, VPN, QoS). Perform network maintenance and system upgrades including service packs, patches, hot fixes. Monitor system resource utilization, trending, and capacity planning. Track inventory and life-cycle of network equipment, technology refresh, and software support. Select and implement security tools and procedures as outlined in the system security plans. Liaise with vendors and other IT personnel for problem resolution. Assist with preparing Statement of Work documents and seeking vendor input.
