The BGS F/A-18 Structural Analysis team is responsible for supporting new source stand up, modifications, repairs and spares production support of the F/A-18 Legacy Hornet and Super Hornet, as well as ensuring the structural integrity of the components. Other platforms supported within our team are F-15, T-45 and AV-8B. The selected candidate must be able to work in a fast-paced, work environment. Team members will work with cross-functional teams including representatives from Design Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Liaison Engineering, Technical Integration, Supplier Management, Production Operations, and Program Management. The candidate must be able to provide technical direction to teammates on structural analysis and effectively communicate with cross-functional team members. Position Responsibilities: Conduct stress analyses of aircraft primary structures using well defined analysis tools Verification of structural integrity by using analytical methods, finite element models/simulations and other analysis tools to develop and maintain the structural environment, characteristics and performance. Supports in-service products by investigating failures and analyzing improvements Development of test plans and configurations, support test execution and analyses/reports to validate systems and components meet requirements and specifications. Senior Engineer III
SOLTESZ Lanham, Maryland
Soltesz has a full time position for a Senior Engineer in our Lanham, MD office, who likes working with skilled professionals on a team. The Senior Engineer will perform a variety of civil engineering functions in support of major and interesting projects in the region. The Project Engineer must be career driven, technologically savvy, and able to adapt to a wide variety of project types and sizes. The work required by the Project Engineer is diverse ranging from general civil engineering duties to technical work that requires strong capabilities in MicroStation and/or AutoCAD, and Microsoft Office programs. Previous experience with projects in Prince George's County, Maryland is preferred. Job Requirements BS degree in Civil Engineering 8+ years of progressive experience directly related to design and construction of land development projects in the Washington DC Metro area, specific experience in Prince George's County is a plus. Responsible for the project design including: roads, drainage, sediment control, SWM, water & sewer, etc. Demonstrated ability to meet project and client deadlines. Works efficiently to meet project budgets. Prepares graphics, exhibits, and site / civil construction plans. Communicates effectively with coworkers, sub consultants, clients, and review agencies. Composes technical reports, memorandums and other written communication such as email. Handles multiple concurrent projects. Ability to mentor and train other civil engineering design staff. Sr. Engineer I - Civil Design/Land Development
SOLTESZ Waldorf, Maryland
The Senior Engineer is responsible for working in our Waldorf, MD office in a team environment in the preparation of site civil engineering construction documents. Tasks associated with this position include, but may not be limited to: Preparation of land development construction drawings/documents based upon client's development goals under the supervision of the assigned PM. Construction documents may include aspects of roadway design, utility design, and site design. Assist in the preparation of zoning, preliminary, and concept land development plans. Perform site grading design and drafting to ensure value engineering is achieved through earthwork analysis, and site safety is accomplished through the use of appropriate design slopes and drainage considerations. Perform soil erosion & sediment control design and drafting, including stability calculations, Best Management Practices, swale design, spillway design, and determination of construction sequence. Calculates quantities to be used in construction cost estimates. Research and understand standards/codes required by the client and jurisdictions through interaction with necessary personnel (PM, PE, etc.) to accurately and efficiently develop the above noted designs. Processing design plan documents through local, state, and federal approving agencies. The Civil Engineer completes tasks as assigned by the immediate Project Manager and/or other management staff. The Civil Engineer reports directly to the Project Manager but may receive direction from the Assistant Project Manager or from other management staff.
