Duties & Responsibilities Rough-in low-voltage wiring for new construction residential and light commercial projects Pull, route, secure, label, and organize wire for security, AV, CCTV, network, access control, and automation systems Install wiring for multi-room audio, home theater, TV locations, cameras, keypads, door contacts, motion detectors, wireless access points, shades, lighting controls, and other low-voltage devices Read and follow blueprints, wiring plans, site documentation, and project scope notes Mark and confirm device locations according to plans and project direction Mount low-voltage boxes, brackets, back cans, rings, panels, enclosures, camera mounts, speaker brackets, TV back boxes, and other rough-in hardware Prepare wiring and equipment locations for trim-out, programming, and final system activation by others Build and install structured wiring panels, AV backboards, and rough-in equipment locations as needed Coordinate with project managers, builders, electricians, site supervisors, and other trades Maintain clean, organized, and professional work areas on active construction sites Protect finished and unfinished surfaces while working Perform basic trim-out or equipment mounting as needed Manage company tools, materials, van stock, and jobsite supplies responsibly Communicate job progress, material needs, site issues, and plan conflicts clearly Follow company standards for wire routing, labeling, fastening, documentation, and jobsite cleanliness Adhere to all safety requirements, traffic laws, site rules, and applicable state and federal regulations Systems & Technologies May Include Residential burglar alarm wiring CCTV and camera pre-wire Wi-Fi and network cabling AV multi-room audio wiring Home theater wiring TV and display locations Access control wiring Control4 infrastructure Lutron shading and lighting control wiring Structured wiring panels and enclosures Speakers, keypads, touchscreens, sensors, contacts, and other low-voltage devices Qualifications 1-3+ years of experience in low-voltage wiring, security, AV, or new construction installation preferred Strong understanding of low-voltage wiring practices Ability to pull, route, secure, and label wire neatly and accurately Ability to read basic blueprints, floor plans, or site documentation Comfortable working on active construction sites Experience using hand tools, power tools, ladders, and basic construction equipment Ability to mount boxes, brackets, panels, speakers, cameras, and related equipment Strong attention to detail and pride in clean workmanship Tech-savvy mindset with willingness to learn JM Resources standards and system layouts Self-starter with strong organizational habits Ability to work independently or as part of a team Good communication skills with coworkers, project managers, builders, and other trades Valid driver's license and clean driving record Ability to pass a criminal background check Strive to complete work efficiently while maintaining JM Resources quality standards Additional Requirements Flexibility to work overtime when project schedules require it Ability to work in tight spaces, attics, basements, crawl spaces, and unfinished construction areas Ability to work from ladders and at ladder height Ability to lift, carry, and move tools, ladders, wire, boxes, and materials Valid driver's license, clean driving record, and criminal background check Ability to follow safety procedures and maintain a professional appearance on job sites Why You Want to Work with Us Because you want a career, not just a job.
