Job Description Job Description W&B Service Company has an excellent opportunity for a Reefer Technician . We are the largest transport refrigeration dealer of Carrier Transicold, a world leader in Truck, Trailer and rail refrigeration systems. We are also the nation's largest full service Hyundai Translead trailer dealer. We have 21 facilities throughout the Southwest, including Texas, Arkansas, Louisiana and Oklahoma. Duties will include: Perform diagnostics and repair starting and charging system, cooling and re-charge, and electrical including common fault codes. Repairs include performing leak detection procedures, compressor replacements, soldering refrigerant lines, evaporator/condenser replacements and front & rear main engine seal replacements. Perform repair and maintenance on reefer units in accordance with manufacturer's specifications. Identify and obtain necessary replacement parts as needed to execute repairs. Qualifications you'll bring as a Transportation Maintenance Supervisor: Have a 4-year degree or equivalent professional training and experience in heavy maintenance discipline. Have 5 or more years of maintenance supervision experience in an automotive or heavy-duty shop. Possess outstanding leadership qualities, including assertiveness, organization, enthusiasm, decisiveness, planning, confidence and accountability. Have excellent verbal and written communication skills. Possess strong analytical skills. Be willing to work flexible hours. Have strong technical working knowledge of Medium/Heavy equipment. This role requires experience troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and structural systems while ensuring all equipment meets DOT and safety compliance standards. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Inspect, diagnose, and repair mechanical, electrical, and structural issues on trailers Perform preventive maintenance (PM) and routine trailer servicing Repair or replace brake systems, suspensions, axles, landing gear, and wheel-end components Troubleshoot and repair lighting systems, wiring, and electrical components Complete frame, body, and structural repairs, including welding and fabrication Conduct DOT inspections and ensure all work meets regulatory and company standards Use diagnostic tools, equipment, and repair manuals to identify issues Document all repairs and maintain accurate work orders in the maintenance system Maintain a clean, safe, and compliant work environment Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members regarding repair needs Required Qualifications Experience as a Trailer Technician, Trailer Mechanic, Diesel Technician, Fleet Technician, or similar role Strong mechanical aptitude with hands-on experience in trailer repair and maintenance Knowledge of brake systems, suspension systems, hydraulics, electrical systems, and DOT requirements Ability to use shop tools, diagnostic equipment, and welding/fabrication tools Ability to lift, move, and work with heavy equipment and trailer components Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail Commitment to a safe work environment and regulatory compliance Preferred Qualifications Welding and fabrication experience Previous experience in the transportation, trucking, or fleet maintenance industry strongly preferred Experience working with multiple trailer types (dry van, flatbed, reefer, utility, etc.) strongly preferred Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced shop environment Why Work With Us Industry-leading tools, equipment, and support Opportunities for growth, technical training, and career advancement Work with a trusted leader in the transportation and fleet service industry Skills Keywords Trailer repair, trailer technician, trailer mechanic, fleet maintenance, PM service, preventive maintenance, DOT inspections, brake repair, welding, fabrication, suspension repair, electrical troubleshooting, hydraulic systems, mechanical repair, trucking industry, transportation equipment, shop technician, diesel repair support, vehicle inspection, trailer diagnostics.
