The Boeing Space & Launch team is seeking a Mid-level or Senior Modeling and Simulation Engineer for development projects in El Segundo, CA and Mesa, AZ. The Space and Launch Team creates the next generation products and services for the BDS business unit. We work with proprietary customers in the development of the next-generation technologies in space. This position focuses on system analysis involving production of models and simulations to support business needs, as well as the design of constellations to support proprietary missions. Our group works all facets of engineering from technology investment, concept development, proposal writing, requirements and design, build, integration, test, and demonstration of products in their relevant environments. You will participate in all phases of the system development life cycle, including concept of operations (ConOps) development, requirements development, analysis and decomposition, software and hardware system design, algorithm design, risk management, integration, test and operations. The candidate will function as a Modeling and Simulation Analyst either assigned as a technical leader in business development or on an active program. This job is a broad customer-oriented position that entails building, executing, and/or presenting system level analysis for space-based systems. The work is often requirements focused and is critical at all stages of program development and execution (i.e. from new business until operations support). Analysis may be general and scheduled (e.g. subsystem or system of systems trade evaluation using existing tools and processes to support design reviews or other program milestones) or it may be to support special needs of individual programs requiring problem definition, problem solving, and (critically) coordination within the system engineering team to establish and justify the best process to model and analyze the situation. Position Responsibilities: Applies an interdisciplinary, collaborative approach to plan, design, develop and verify a lifecycle balanced system of systems and system solutions Evaluates customer and /operational needs to define and coordinate system performance requirements, integrate technical parameters and assure compatibility of all physical, functional and program interfaces Performs various analyses to optimize total system of systems and/or system architecture Performs analyses for affordability, safety, reliability, maintainability, testability, human systems integration, survivability, vulnerability, susceptibility, system security, regulatory, certification, product assurance and other specialties quality factors into a preferred configuration to ensure mission success Develops the planning, organization, implementation and monitoring of requirements management processes, tools, risk, issues, opportunity management and technology readiness assessment processes Resolves cross-functional technical issues Interfacing with other system engineers to define and update measures of effectiveness to support system level trades Maintaining system level budgets that perform allocation of system requirements and characterize sensitivity to changes in system performance across subsystems User and/or developing software tools to enable scheduling of tasks and apportionment of resources at a constellation level for proliferated systems of satellites Using and/or developing software tools to enable characterization of system performance through analysis of capacity or availability Employing a system level mindset in understanding requirements and performance, enabling the creation of models that are of sufficient complexity for the situation Using and/or developing software tools to enable design and analysis of communication systems (including link analysis, modulation and coding) This position is expected to be 100% onsite. Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience): Bachelor's, Master's or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry Systems engineering experience involving system requirements, functional decomposition and allocation, integrated design, analysis, and verification Experience with at least one high level software development language (e.g. MATLAB, Python, C++) Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience): Level 3: 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education Level 4: 9 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience Experience simulating satellite digital communications systems link effects (weather, nonlinear amplifiers, interference from spectral reuse, modeling performance of phased array antennas, etc.) Experience simulating satellite orbital design (latitude, longitude, altitude) and ability to transform satellite to reference frames. Experience with MATLAB or Python, and C++ or Java Experience with MBSE, SysML, NoMagic Cameo, and creating model(s) Experience in customer requirements development, system requirements, and CONOPs development Experience with digital communications systems design and analysis (including link analysis, and familiarity with modulation and coding) Educational background in Electrical Engineering or Aerospace Engineering with a focus in satellite communication design. Mid-to-Senior Project Manager Location: Chesapeake, VA Travel Requirement: Up to 25% (project site visits) Plasser American Corporation (PAC) is seeking a Mid-to-Senior Project Manager to lead and coordinate critical railroad equipment projects from manufacturing through commissioning and final handover. This role is ideal for someone with a solid foundation in engineering, a strong background in project management, and a desire to make a tangible impact on complex, high-stakes deliverables in the railroad industry. Key Responsibilities Lead the end-to-end project lifecycle-including planning, execution, commissioning, and handover-while maintaining rigorous documentation of project milestones and deliverables. Represent PAC in meetings with internal teams, customers, contractors, and senior management to align expectations, resolve issues, and communicate project progress. Oversee and coordinate the activities of project engineers and support staff, ensuring timely, on-budget delivery in accordance with contract scope and technical requirements. Monitor project risk, assess potential impacts, and take proactive measures to ensure execution remains on track. Review and manage project financials and delivery schedules across all engineering and manufacturing disciplines; communicate financial status and forecasts to management. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Project Management, or a related technical field preferred. Minimum 5 years of project management experience -preferably with heavy equipment or complex mechanical/rail systems. Strong working knowledge of the railroad industry and prior experience interfacing with class one railroad and transit is a significant advantage. PMP certification preferred (or willingness to obtain within 1 year of employment). Proven expertise with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Project, PowerPoint, Visio, Teams). Experience with scheduling software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera, or equivalent). Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Effective communicator with demonstrated leadership in cross-functional environments. Willingness and ability to travel domestically and internationally up to 25%.
