Cath Lab Technologist Cardiac Cath Lab The Cath Lab Technologist will: Maintain safe operation of designated equipment and instruments. Set up equipment prior to procedure, as appropriate to the ages of the patient's growth and development through the life cycle factors (Adults and Geriatrics). Assist in patient preparation for procedure as appropriate to the ages of the patient's growth and development through the life cycle factors (Adults and Geriatrics). Maintain accurate and thorough documentation of procedure utilizing event log on hemodynamic monitoring system. Maintain the power injection during procedure. Maintain accurate monitoring of image acquisitions during procedure. Perform as an active member of cath lab team in assisting with other duties as appropriate to patient growth and development through the life cycle factors (Adults and Geriatrics). Maintain Supply and Inventory Management. Be responsible for Patient Safety. Report all necessary information and/or unusual occurrences in accordance with established hospital policies and procedures. Participate in staff development and educational activities. Requirements: Graduate of an approved ARRT Radiology technology program or Graduate of an approved and accredited Cardiovascular Technology program or equivalent. Registered Radiology Technologist, RT (R) or Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist, RCIS. Requires a working knowledge of the x-ray equipment with the ability to assist the physician. Requires a working knowledge of radiation safety and the hemodynamic monitoring systems. Able to correctly mark images ensuring accuracy of image identification. Possesses the strong knowledge of cardiac diagnostic and interventional procedures and the ability to recognize cardiac arrhythmias. Maintains and understanding working knowledge of monitoring equipment, information system, emergency equipment, and department's specific equipment. Possesses the ability to think and move quickly in order to deliver quality and efficient patient care. Possesses the skills and sensitivity to work well as a team member with physicians, patients and co-workers. BLS Certification required, as approved by the American Heart Association. ACLS certification required within 90 days of entry into role. Grade 122
