The ideal candidate will have 2-3 years of training or leadership experience, with a preference for at least 2 years of hands-on training. (Terms and conditions apply) Process Operator / CNC Machinist Siemens Energy in Charlotte, NC is actively recruiting for full-time positions across various shifts, encompassing a range of days and time slots such as 5:30am-4:00pm Mon-Thurs, 4:00 pm-2:30am Mon-Thurs & 5:30am-6:00pm Fri- Sun, 5:30pm-6:00am Fri- Sun A Snapshot of Your Day Set up and operate a variety of manufacturing equipment using CNC controls for multiple operations, to include but not limited to machining (Horizontal Boring Machines, Laser Drillers, 5-axis milling machines), bonding, heat treatment, manual machining and hand tools, etc. How You'll Make an Impact Embrace Safety & Quality Culture. Required to lift / move 50lbs of materials Interpret detailed drawings/sketches, blueprints, manufactures specifications, etc., and figure out necessary tools to perform required machining operations Using material handling devices (Jib & B/C cranes and forklifts), loads/unloads parts from machines and/or assists crane operator. Follows Siemens established procedures to operate machinery and equipment. What You Bring Education: High School diploma or GED Experience: Minimum of 3 years in CNC operations, specifically in the following areas: Machining Laser applications Coating machines (specific experience preferred) Required Certifications: Fork truck/crane license (Active or ability to obtain it immediately on selection) Ability to obtain an ACT WorkKeys National Career Readiness Certificate (Silver Level or higher) as part of the pre-hire assessment. Skills: Proficient in CNC operation, loading/unloading workpieces, adhering to QA protocols, performing complex metrology, and interpreting complex drawings; strong shop math skills. As the Lead CNC Programmer , you'll help establish programming standards, support new equipment installs, and mentor a growing team-playing a direct role in scaling production for life-saving biologic therapies used worldwide. This is not a "sit behind the desk" role. It's hands-on, technical, and influential. The Work You'll Be Doing In this role, you will: Develop, modify, and optimize CNC programs for milling, turning, and multi-axis machines Serve as the technical lead for CNC programming and machining strategy Review and approve CNC programs, setups, and tooling selections Lead program prove-outs, first articles, and production ramp-ups Partner with Engineering on DFM and new product introductions Establish programming standards, documentation, and setup sheets Mentor and train CNC programmers and machinists Support safety, quality, and regulatory compliance Drive continuous improvement and lean manufacturing initiatives You'll have real ownership over how CNC programming is done at this facility.
