POSITION: QC Lab Tech (12-hr Shifts)
SHIFTS: 12-hr Days (6am to 6pm) and 12-hr Nights (6pm to 6am) on a 2-2-3 pattern
COMPENSATION: $21.50 (days) and $24.73 (nights)
EDUCATION / PRIOR EXPERIENCE:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- Previous experience as a Laboratory Technician within a fast-paced manufacturing setting is preferred
- Demonstrated knowledge and ability to pass required Laboratory Technician Level I vials certification
- Exposure to ISO 9001 and 14001; along with cGMP, is a plus
- Experience in glass forming industry and/or pharmaceutical industry experience (preferred)
- Demonstrated communication skills (written / oral) including the ability to read/speak English
- Basic understanding of computer-related tasks (e.g., SPC) is required
- Ability and willingness to work 8-hr Shifts within a 5-day pattern
- Ability and willingness to work in a production floor setting with moderate noise
- Ability and willingness to work in fast-paced, matrix structured organization
SUMMARY / OBJECTIVE: Responsible for assuring that quality testing, along with release of the product, adheres with established standards and specifications. Where applicable, assist with general quality support, potential improvements measures and cross-training initiatives. Potential duties/responsibilities include (but not limited to):
- Collect samples and perform daily Hydrolytic Resistance Testing/Retesting of vials according to ISO 4802-1, using a titrator
- Communicate nonconforming issues and interact effectively with all employees at all levels of responsibility
- Perform inspections/testing of incoming materials using statistical sampling techniques and precision measuring instruments to ensure conformance to specifications
- Perform inventory and where/when applicable, order necessary lab supplies
- Maintain all calibrations and upkeep on lab and treatment room equipment
- Maintain, clean and fill all treatment tanks
- Write and/or review Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), test methods, and lab testing summary reports
- Possess familiarity with Flame Atomic Absorption Spectrophotometer
- Remain flexible to work irregular hours to provide coverage during instances of staffing gaps, such as vacations and/or leaves of absence
- Complete daily cleaning of applicable laboratory station(s)
- Participate in required trainings and meetings, when necessary
- Follow all Company policies and procedures
- Help implement and/or suggest new concepts of IMSU/EHS in area of responsibility, while adhering to all safety policies and regulations, along with the EHS Guideline
- Assist and follow all applicable ISO, cGMP and FDA guidelines
