Manages the assets and operations personnel of the production, packaging, warehouse and maintenance departments of the HDG site to ensure high quality standards and maximum productivity. Supervises and directs teams to support continued improvement of production and maintenance operations at competitive cost. Performs administrative duties (i.e. disciplinary and performance issues, prepares work schedules, assures adherence to ISO 9002/14001, other ESHQ standards and company policies, procedures and rules).

RESPONSIBILITIES

Directs employees to maximize product quality and productivity through safe teamwork efforts.
Lead the production, packaging, shipping and maintenance departments to maximize efficiency, productivity and quality of product.
Develop and propose budget planning/forecasting, facilitate contract/negotiations for equipment and raw materials,
Represent the site in Management Review Process. Performs root cause investigations on corrective action requests and verifies effectiveness plans, arrange or and conducts training of operators as required.
Investigates all accidents that occur in area of responsibility, initiates/implements corrective action and verifies effectiveness. Performs periodic audits to ensure adherence to Safety Policies.
Maintains a spirit of cooperation and continuous improvement between all Plant personnel. Exemplifies proper Safety standards, morale, and performance.
Approves purchases within guidelines and budget. Ensures security of inventory and that critical materials and parts are in supply.
Directs the site team to analyze equipment failures, repair histories, and repair methods and to implement equipment and procedural changes to improve equipment reliability and performance.

REQUIREMENTS

B.S. Engineering or related technical background
10+ years Chemical Plant experience
5-10 years of direct Supervisory experience
Knowledge of ISO Standards
The ability to understand complex technical processes.
Excellent communication, organization, management and leadership skills
Effective problem solving skills - ability to implement solutions for complex, unanticipated issues that impact the production of precipitated silicas
Knowledge of various equipment and maintenance practices -RBM, Lean knowledge
