Management of all market related activities for Building Protection market segment in the North, Central and South America region. Develop and implement regional growth strategy, technical projects together with Applied Technology. Prioritize all Building Protection related technical activities and work with Building Protection Sales Managers to execute segment strategies in Americas. Support and participate in special projects as well as lead new market entry activities for region.
RESPONSIBILITIES
APPLIED TECHNOLOGY (10%)
Prioritization of application lab activity based on customer need and value.
Represent Evonik in Engineering/Architectural committees and societies
Mentor application technology colleagues in understanding competitive products and technical landscape.
SALES (20%)
Provide direction to business managers on specifiers (Architects, Engineers), and projects
Provide direction to business managers on promoting new products, and work with distributors
MARKETING (70%)
Strategy - Prepare three-year marketing plans for market segment; translate the plan into marketing, sales, AT, and financial goals. Define and implement resource requirement to support the business. Prepare and execute regional market segment strategies in alignment with global strategies.
Analysis - Collection and structured analysis of market volume and development of silanes used, review and follow-up of market trends, opportunities, and price development. Profitability analysis of customers, products, and markets and reporting to the upper management. Regular review of customers landscape: collection and maintenance of customers data, analysis of the impacts on segment's strategy including a respective gap analysis.
Customers and Contracts - Contact key customers and other relevant business partners; lead price negotiations, prepare contracts. Implement price increases as required for margin improvement.
New Business Development - Identification of the new product development opportunities and presentation to the global team. Management of product launches, establishment, and maintenance of a product launch roadmap in collaboration with Global Marketing Director.
Profitability - Responsible for the segment sales and profitability
Product Management - Guide supply chain for proper production and inventory of products and raw materials
Promotional Materials - Responsible for preparing the promotional literature and trade shows
Trade Shows- Attend as required and be active in industry associations. Serve on appropriate industry group committees to support BP segment
REQUIREMENTS
BS or MS in Chemistry, Material Science, Polymer Chemistry / Science, Chemical Engineering, Civil Engineering or equivalent.
A minimum of 5 years work experience in the chemical industry, experience in the construction industry a clear plus.
Familiarity with building protection chemicals is a plus.
Must have experience working with external customers, ideally with track record of success.
Must have excellent communication skills, including presentation skills to deal with internal and external customers.
Must have the ability to work independently and with others.
Excellent interpersonal skills portraying confidence, knowledge, and a positive can-do attitude. Independent and driven individual with the ability to prioritize and handle multiple projects simultaneously.
Ability to create networks of experts to leverage external knowledge and develop collaborative programs with key customers and end-users.
