Job Description

Start-up, shut down, and troubleshooting of the molding processes during normal production runs. Setting up injection molding machines and all related equipment to allow the manufacture of product that meets or exceeds the established quality levels at the standard rates that have been established. Continuously monitors processes and equipment and communicates any issues to supervisor or quality.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

* Ready all scheduled machines for production at the start of each shift.
* Ensure proper job set-up.
* Check that operator acknowledgement sheets are signed by operator and initialed by supervisor or process technician.
* Ensure hourly system and quality checks of all operating machines are being done.
* Complete Daily Cycle Time Verification Sheets.
* Quick and professional response to any operator or quality personnel questions or concerns on part quality.
* Record any process changes and correction of any quality issue on the Job Set-up Sheet and obtain quality technician signature.
* Assist with or perform required mold changes.
* Assist with making sure there are no partial boxes.
* Assist with area clean up and have new packaging and material set-up ready for machine set-up.
* Assist with all parts packaging making sure material and peripheral equipment for exiting job is put away.
* Review any concerns or problems before coming on shift and before leaving shift.
* Performs other duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS

* Five years recent experience performing set-up, processing, and troubleshooting of horizontal and vertical plastic injection mold machines in automotive industry; able to addresses processing issues.
* Demonstrates knowledge of a wide variety of material variations, quality systems and tools. Strong inspection abilities required to identify part defects, and problem-solving capabilities in understanding root causes of defects.
* Excellent communication skills, including verbal and written.
* Must be computer literate and familiar with appropriate software programs.
* Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing (Kanban, 5s, Std, Work, Problem Solving etc.)
* High school diploma or GED is required; two year technical degree would be a plus.
