2nd shift Production Manager is needed for expanding personal care MFG firm. Expanding the business and adding a 2nd shift production crew. Will train 1-3 months on 1st shift before moving to 2nd shift hours. Will Manage daily operation of filling department with a focus on quality, efficiency and performance. Supervise production team.
Hours = Train on 1st shift and then will switch to 2nd shift hours after training period
Pay = $50-$65K based on experience and qualifications
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Oversee the work of production leaders and staff to ensure production goals are met.
• Evaluate production data to ensure we are meeting objectives.
• Maintain quality service by establishing and enforcing organization standards.
• Coach leaders to their full capability.
• Ensure proper staffing and that staff receives appropriate training.
• Comply with and work with staff to ensure compliance of regulatory and company standards and procedures.
• Communicate company policies and procedures to employees and enforce them.
• Ensure product is produced efficiently and safely while meeting quality expectations.
• Work with other departments to ensure filling department has everything necessary to meet objectives.
• Provide manufacturing information by compiling, initiating, sorting, and analyzing production performance records and data; answering questions and responding to requests.
• Maintain safe and clean work environment by educating and directing personnel on the use of all control points, equipment, and resources.
• Ensure operation of equipment by calling for repairs; evaluating new equipment and techniques.
• Resolve personnel issues.
• Establish and maintain effective, professional relationships.
• Manage an effective team.
• Ensure proper staffing and that staff receives appropriate training.
• Evaluate staff performance and competencies.
• Troubleshoot and assist with problem solving.
• Formulate, implement, interpret and affect policies and operating practices.
• Demonstrate independent judgment and make recommendations regarding business practices.
• Make recommendations on employment decisions (e.g., advancement, counseling, hiring, disciplinary action, termination).
• Communicate effectively with others.
Required Education, Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
• Extensive supervisor experience with 4 + years management experience in manufacturing.
• Prior lean experience and a good understanding of how to lead Kaizan and 5's events.
• Strong knowledge of FDA, OSHA and GMP regulations.
• Excellent supervisory, computer, and communication skills.
• Proven background in evaluation of personnel and capability of machinery.
• Proven ability to evaluate production processes and staffing needs for best results.
• Ability to coach leaders in following procedures and ensuring timely and efficient completion of objectives.
• Ability to clearly and concisely communicate skills to employees.
Preferred Knowledge, Certifications, Skills, Abilities:
• Liquid filling/packing experience
• Advanced training in Quality Control systems
• Advanced math
• Computer proficient in Microsoft Office software
• Certifications in MAT, CPR & First Aid, OSHA, and Forklift
