Performs inpatient and outpatient phlebotomy procedures, specimen processing, clerical duties, microbiology set-up, reference lab preparation and collection of drug and alcohol screens. Processes specimens and completes the proper paperwork for laboratory testing for both in-house and reference lab testing. Performs waived testing and QC for waived testing under the supervision of the Department Lead. Monitors and documents equipment and environmental temperatures. Orders, receives, and takes inventory of supplies. Performs other duties as assigned. High School Diploma or equivalent required. Must possess good clerical skills. On the job training will be provided. Strong interpersonal skills required for communicating with patients, medical staff, and employees. Current BLS certification required within 90 days of employment. Phlebotomy certification preferred. At least 2 years phlebotomy experience/specimen processing preferred.
