Responsibilities
• Engage with young children in age-appropriate activities to foster a positive and healthy learning environment
• Review Safari Kid curriculum and lesson plans (provided) in advance for smooth implementation
• Ensure the classroom is kept clean and safe
• Encourage creative thinking and learning
• Read stories to the children
• Interact with other teachers and administrative staff as needed
• Communicate positively with parents regarding child development and progress
• Attend periodic Safari Kid training to learn and implement Safari Kid programs and curriculum
Qualifications
• 6 - 12 units of Early Childhood Education (on lower end must be still enrolled in classes)
• At least 18 yrs. old, up to date immunizations, and must pass a background check
• Understanding of educational techniques and methods for teaching young children
• Positive attitude toward learning, communicating, parents, and children
• Ability to stand and move around for long hours at a time while teaching
• Certification from a national organization preferred
•At least 1+ year of prior experience working in Child Care preferred
