GAP Ministries is hiring Direct Care Profesionals for our 8 family-style homes in Northwest Tucson where we care for children and teens placed in foster care.

THE DIRECT CARE PROFESSIONAL IS A SAFETY SENSITIVE POSITION.

JOB SUMMARY: Direct Care Professionals work to provide a safe, Christ-centered temporary home for children in care. They are part of a larger Christ-centered management team with high expectations for biblical character and values focused on creating and modeling for children in care and for all staff, love, hope and peace.

This opportunity is available both Part-Time and Full-Time. We will work with you to maximize your schedule. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS FOR A DIRECT CARE PROFESSIONAL:

  • Implement the daily schedule for the children, engage in activities of the group or with individual children within the group, as their needs require, often implementing these tasks without other support staff.
  • Supervise morning activities of the group or with individual children within the group.
  • Implement the bedtime or night schedule for the children.
  • Supervise children with chores and homework.
  • Transport children to appointments when needed.
  • Ensure records are maintained in compliance with federal/state/local regulations. Complete all paperwork in a prompt and careful manner, keeping records confidential.
  • Ensure that the home and yard are maintained in a safe and clean manner.
  • Prepare meals, following posted menu and follow sanitary guidelines.
  • Engage with the children in an appropriate manner following the GAP Ministries Behavior Management Plan and trauma model (TBRI), CPI strategies and state regulatory requirements.
  • Work with SPLASH Manager to meet expectations for each SPLASH house.
