Job Description

This position is key to achieving the strategic vision for iEXCEL and the Davis Global Center. As such, this position works very closely with the AVC, iEXCEL to help manage operations as well as engage with high level strategic initiatives. This requires working with University, Military, Industry and Community leaders related to the provision of accurate information, directives, requiring a high level of autonomy, independent judgment, independent thinking, and decision-making, oftent in time sensitive situations.
This position manages strategic communication between the AVC, iEXCEL and the ChancellorĂ¢s office, iEXCEL Executive Committee, College Deans, governmental agencies, the military (including USSTRATCOM), industry partners, Nebraska Medicine, and the NU Foundation. This position also manages the iEXCEL Advisory Board, and iEXCEL Executive Committee, interfacing with boardmembers and philanthropists.This position will be responsible for organizing red level tour and event planning for iEXCEL and the Davis Global Center and works closely with the iEXCEL leadership team to convey and represent the image of the iEXCEL program and Davis Global Center. Tours and events include academic and community outreach activities and events / tours for iEXCEL that often occur in the evening and at weekends. Additionally, this position serves as staff advisor and organizer of the iEXCEL Student Society, iEXCEL volunteers and other individuals or groups that assist with providing support for iEXCEL.
This position requires a high degree of confidentiality as it interfaces with national and global leaders, and is often the first line of contact for industry representatives, Government officials, the Military, including US Strategic Commmand, University donors, and international constituents. The AVC requires assistance and liaison with accountabilities that involve training programs for US Strategic Command and with military industry contractors that occur in the iXR Academy Davis Global Center.
The AVC also has responsibility for the administrative and operational aspects of the Davis Global Center including personnel and staffing issues where confidentiality and discretion are key. The AVC relies on this position to manage when they travel and/or is in meetings to prioritize and make decisions as well as maintain the iEXCEL culture. This position must be thoroughly familiar with institutional policies and know where and how to elicit such information.
The position will aid and relieve the AVC in routine and non-routine responsibilities of the operations for iEXCEL and the Davis Global Center.Omaha, NE
