Major Job Responsibilities/Job Duties:
Omaha Steaks' Production Artist will work along Graphic Designers to complete updates and revisions to existing design files, set up projects, or get projects ready for delivery. Will work along side our Graphic Designers, storytellers, photographers, and creative directors to craft compelling, brand-aligned marketing pieces.
Must be able to work collaboratively, handle multiple projects simultaneously, and keep organized continually. Last minute changes under tight deadlines are par for the course in this workflow.
  • Completes updates and revisions to existing files resulting in brand-aligned, compelling marketing pieces. Sets up files and projects for collaboration with other designers. Completes files and gets them ready for delivery.
  • Keeps files and folders clean and organized. Makes all changes thoroughly. Proofreads artwork at all stages of production.
  • Participates in conceptualization meetings to achieve clarity on project plans and creative direction so execution of the project is aligned to the project's goals. Comes in at any stage of a project for support.
  • Collaborates with designers and copywriters to bring to life the creative concepts for each project.
  • Communicates directly with managers and teammates to keep them updated on the progress of current creative projects.
  • Design using tools in the Adobe Creative Suite: primarily InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator.
  • Collaborate and support creative and marketing teams on planning advertising pieces.
  • Execute a variety of print mailings, ads, catalogs, emails, banners, signage or packaging.
  • Execute files for pre-press output and web optimization, including: color corrections, inks, bleed.
  • Ensure every design meets brand standards and partner requirements
  • Ensure every project is delivered on time.
  • Adapt and flex to change in focus as the priority of projects shift.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • 2-year college degree or equivalent work experience, continuing education in software tools and skills
  • 1-3 years' experience in graphic design or production art. Pre-press production experience a plus. Entry-level employees acceptable, but they must be trained in Adobe Creative suite.
  • Excellent working knowledge in Adobe Creative Suite: InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, Acrobat, and all Microsoft Oï¬ce software.
  • In-depth knowledge of print pre-flight and web optimization: resolution, bleeds, inks, color space.
  • Self-starter, detail-oriented, dependable and ability to work within quick turnaround timelines.
  • Adapts quickly and maintains accuracy through frequent updates, demonstrates flexibility.
  • Have a "can do" attitude and doing whatever it takes to get the job done right and on time.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
