Responsibilities

Wellstar is looking for an Exercise Specialist to join the team!

If you have experience and a passion to lead and develop women's programming we would love to speak with you!

This role will include fill exercise programming for women with specific health conditions, pre-pregnancy, pregnancy, post-partum and menopause!

The Exercise Specialist functions under the direct supervision of the Fitness Supervisor. Assists in the design, development, delivery, and evaluation of all WellStar fitness and other health promotion services/events to achieve desirable health outcomes. Responsible for conducting client fitness assessments and consultations, supervising/assisting with all workouts in the Adult Fitness area, conducting personal training sessions and exercise classes as needed. Also, if applicable, carries out all functions and responsibilities for assigned programs/projects, such as marketing, design, implementation, etc. provides support for daily facility/exercise equipment cleanliness and maintenance. Teaches classes, writes articles and provides presentations in area of expertise. Works with other staff of WellStar when applicable.





Job Requirements:


Required Minimum Education:

Bachelor of Science, Exercise Science, Masters preferred


Required Minimum Experience:

Minimum one year experience in a fitness center.


Required Minimum Certification:
• BLS
• American College of Sports Medicine Certified Exercise Physiologist (ACSM-EP). Exercise specialists hired prior to 10/1/2020 are not subject to ACSM-EP requirement.


Required Minimum Skills:

Displays strong motivation for community outreach and working with people. Displays excellent technical, interpersonal, planning, organization, communication, and motivational skills. Displays commitment to excellent health and wellness lifestyle. Competent in all Microsoft Office applications. Exercises independent judgment, ingenuity, critical thinking, and initiative when performing roles. Computer/data entry experience. Ability to communicate with various members of the healthcare team. Ability to use EXCEL, Word and have basic computer operational knowledge. Epic and 3M experience preferred.
