THE IMPACT YOU CAN HAVE:
Ulta is seeking a Security Engineer to protect sensitive data and systems from threats by implementing and monitoring the appropriate security controls. In this role, you will assess potential systems and process vulnerabilities to determine security infrastructure requirements, make recommendations, and make changes to enhance systems security. You will develop security policies and procedures and communicate security requirements and procedures to users.

YOU'LL ACCOMPLISH ALL OF THIS BY:
- Identify and document information security risks and propose mitigating controls
- Investigate and respond to security incidents
- Monitor networks and systems for potential threats
- Research, design, and develop new information security controls
- Actively research, evaluate, and drive next generation security technologies and solutions to solve the organizations needs
- Manage solution development and deployment that adhere to best practices
SKILLS:
- Previously assessed, developed and implemented, operationalized, and documented comprehensive security technologies and processes
- Hands-on experience with multiple security technologies such as antivirus software, intrusion detection, firewalls, and content filtering
- Prior experience with secure software development, data protection, cryptography, key management, identity and access management (IAM), network security (VPNs) within SaaS, IaaS, PaaS, and other cloud environments
- Solid understanding of a range of compliance, regulatory and legal requirements and relevant principles, best practices and standards across multiple industries (e.g., PCI, SOX, GLBA, CSA, NIST, ISO, IEEE)
THE ESSENTIALS FOR SUCCESS:
Qualified candidates will have an Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, a related field, or applicable work experience 2-4 years of IT experience. Additional requirements include:
- Professional designation/certification
- Knowledge of networking protocols (such as TCP, UDP, DNS, FTP, SMTP, DHCP, etc.)
- Knowledge of Windows operating system functionality (file system structure, registry keys, scheduled tasks, processes, services, memory management, data storage, etc.)
- Strong Communications, customer focus and leadership skills required.
- Strong team player with proven experience and ability to collaborate with security professionals.
- Proven experience and ability to manage problem resolution of complex or intermittent issues in a multi-vendor, integrated enterprise environment.
- Ability to follow-up, follow through and deliver timely results
- Ability to apply advanced skill set to resolve complex problems
- Capable of learning new concepts and processes quickly, and adapting to a constantly changing environment
- Strong verbal, written and presentation skills with the ability to effectively interact with internal and external business partners.
- Solid knowledge of industry best practices and technical systems.
- Normal office demands, ability to lift a minimum of 25 pounds.
- Off-Hours support including 24x7 on-call required.
