Job Summary
Amentum is seeking a motivated Human Resources Generalist to join our Human Resources team in Washington, DC.
You have a strong employee relations background, specializing in working with remote employees and government contracting. Your PHR or SHRM certification gives you an extra edge, making you the perfect candidate for this role.
You will support approximately 400 managers and employees located in the Washington, DC Metro area as well as other remote office and telework locations. You'll be an assertive and dynamic individual who is proactive in communications and able to develop effective relationships at all levels within the company. You'll also provide support and guidance to Supervisors, Managers and Employees in a variety of HR-related areas including employee relations, EEO, talent management, training, compensation, benefits, policies, procedures and Human Resource Information Systems.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Inputs and updates changes for employees and managers
- Reviews requisitions for correct information and makes appropriate internal job code recommendations
- Assists with payroll, HRIS, benefits, and other HR-related issues
- Works with employees from various departments for issue resolution, change implementation and correction
- Assists in the administration of HR programs and contributes to the development, implementation, and interpretation of new and existing programs
- Manages and administers a broad range of tasks including resolving complaints and counseling managers, supervisors, and employees on the interpretation of policies and procedures.
- Contributes to initiatives that will enhance motivation, team-building and general welfare of all employees.
- Identifies problems which hinder effective and efficient operations and acts as an advisor recommending solutions.
- Advises and assists with administering the Talent and Performance Management Processes.
- Assists in the creation and delivery of organizational training and development efforts.
- Advises and Assists in training managers on HR best practices.
- Facilitates resolution to employee relations matters and minimizes risk to the company.
- Participates in the processing of terminations and conducting exit interviews.
- Reports on and conducts Affirmative Action and EEO outreach.
- Responsible for the tracking and trending of HR data in areas of responsibility.

Minimum Requirements
- Bachelors degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field and at least 3 years of human resources experience OR in lieu of degree, 11 years human resources job-related experience.
- Due to the nature of the work, must be a U.S. citizen.
- Position may require limited travel to other local site locations.

Preferred Qualifications
- PHR and/or equivalent SHRM certification
- Government contractor experience
- Knowledge of Service Contract Act and applicable laws
