8:00am - 4:30pm
Summary:
Performs general office duties, including but not limited to receptionist duties, bookkeeping and recordkeeping duties in accordance with the standard procedures and policies of the department.
Responsibilities:
1.Coordinates the process to schedule appointments.
2.Receives clients/visitors upon arrival in the department.
3.Answers and routes incoming telephone calls to appropriate team members.
4.Coordinates office procedures and efficient operation of department.
5.Communicates effectively via personal contact, phone and in writing with the following, including but not limited to, hospital staff, physicians, or patients and their families.
6.Efficiently and accurately uses computer for generation of reports, letters, forms and other communications or documents.
7.Responsible for copying and faxing documents to designated recipients.
8.Complies with all department procedures and hospital policies and procedures.
9.Participate in cross coverage efforts with other secretaries/departments as directed.
10.Medical field and medical terminology experience are preferred.
11.Responsible for supply ordering and Kronos timekeeping system entry.
12.Other duties as assigned.

Technical Expertise
1.Proficient secretarial skills are required.
2.Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written are required.
3.Excellent interpersonal skills coupled with strong organizational skills are required.
4.Must possess excellent customer service skills.
5.Medical field and medical terminology experience are preferred.
6.Experience working in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word) or similar software is required.
7.Ability to type 55 words per minute (wpm).
8.Experience working in the creation and management of database information is preferred.
9.Ability to work under stressful conditions in an appropriate manner and independently with minimal supervision.
Education and Experience
1.Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.
2.Certification: None.
3.Years of relevant experience: Minimum two (2) years of administrative assistant/secretarial experience is required.
4.Years of supervisory experience: None.
