JOB SUMMARY
The Wellness Services Coordinator under the direction of the Wellness Director is responsible for providing essential administrative and customer service support. Promotes the safety and well-being of the independent residents via Wellness Checks, I'm OK program, and providing initial response to RER's. May also work in tandem with the Fitness Coordinator.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
1. Responds to emergency calls (RER/911) on the Wesley Homes Des Moines campus.
2. Respond to the initial Wellness check for residents. (I'm OK program)
3. Participate/attend the weekly Resident Review committee meeting.
4. Has a basic understanding of Wesley's Home Care, Home Health & Hospice business models to support Mission and Vision of Wesley.
5. Under the direction of the Wellness Director, may provide blood pressure checks.
6. Works with other Wesley departments - Culinary Services, Environmental Services, and Resident Services - to provide appropriate services for residents.
7. May Assist residents in locating additional community based medical services as needed/refers to Resident Services for non-medical services and concerns.
8. Other duties assigned by the Wellness Director.
QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS
Education Background
• Licensure, Registration, Certification
•
o Maintain current CPR certification.
o EMT training a plus
• Special Training/Skills
o Possess ability to respond appropriately and accurately in emergency situations.
o Ability to make sound professional judgments within the scope of practice of license.
• Work Experience
o Must be a self-starter, possess ability to work independently, be well organized.
o Ability to communicate effectively with residents, families, and coworkers.
o Ability to read and write English to accomplish record keeping responsibilities.
o Able to work evenings, weekends and holidays as needed.
• Physical Demands
o Ability to walk, climb stairs, bend, stoop to perform necessary tasks.
o Ability to lift in emergency situations for resident safety.
