*****THIS JOB IS LOCATED IN CHARLOTTE, NC*****We are currently searching for a Vice President/Chief Operating Officer (VP/COO) for a well-established, growing company. The company is a group-level platform that is executing a roll-up in the precision metals industry. The company currently has six operating divisions and more will be added each year. The ideal candidate for the VP/COO is someone who already has successful general management experience in a CNC manufacturing company. The VP/COO will be an employee of the group-level platform company and will be a key member of the management team reporting to the CEO.VP/COO ResponsibilitiesTo identify additional opportunities that exist between current operating companies (e.G., capacity limitation resolution, cross-selling, level-loading, complementary capabilities, etc.) and develop plans to capitalize on those opportunities. Assist with CAPEX allocation decisions across the organization.Play an extremely important role in pre-acquisition due diligence and post-acquisition integration of future add-on acquisitions.Be available on an as-needed basis for on-site support of any operating company experiencing performance problems, undergoing a management transition, or in need of engineering or project support.VP/COO Requirements:Substantial general management/P experience in one or more precision CNC machining firms competing within a low volume/high mix job shop environment, including 3, 4 & 5-axis vertical mills, horizontal mills, lathes, multitasking mill/turn machines, wire & sinker EDM machines, and automation systems supporting lights-out operation.Demonstrated leadership experience and success in a CNC machining environment.Familiarity with CNC programming and use of Mastercam, GibbsCAM, or comparable CAM programming software.Experience and aptitude in estimating and quoting jobs.Experience and skills in shop scheduling.Familiarity and experience with the E2 Shop ERP system.Ability to manage and lead subordinate operating company Presidents in pursuit of seeking and satisfying new quoting opportunities, meeting production deadlines, cost and profitability objectives, quality requirements, and continuous improvement goals. Fire in the belly desire to do what is necessary and play a leading role in the successful growth and development of the company.Willingness and ability to contribute as part of a team, working closely with VP Sales and VP & CFO (both of whom also report to the CEO), plus various operating company Presidents to grow the company' s business organically and through acquisition.VP/COO Compensation & Benefits: Base salary of $190K - $230K + Bonus (25%)Comprehensive benefits package
