HR Coordinator Essential Job Functions
Recruitment
- Promote available job opportunities, review job applications, conduct preliminary vetting interviews, and schedule interviews
 - Attend various job fairs as needed to recruit restaurant management staff. Coordinate and lead job recruitment fairs when new restaurant locations open
 
Onboarding
- Ensure the onboarding process is efficient and smooth for new team members, communicate onboarding status with candidates and managers, and participate in new hire orientation when applicable.
 - Monitor Referral Bonus Program
 - Maintain employee files and follows state and federal guidelines for document retention
 
HR Training
- Monitor and schedule HR related training for managers and leaders
 - Attend manager meetings at the restaurants to discuss HR related topics when needed
 
Employee Relations
- Publish birthday and work anniversary announcements on company platforms
 - Assist with maintenance of the Huse Culinary Years-of-Service recognition program
 - Coordinator for the Huse Culinary benevolence fund
 - Help ensure that employees have a safe working environment, free from discrimination and harassment
 - Help investigate and resolve employee complaints in collaboration with appropriate personnel
 - Be visible in the restaurants to help bridge communication between HR and employees
 - Perform customer service functions by answering employee requests and questions
 
Performance Management
- Ensure that every employee receives an annual review
 - Maintain best practices and constructive formats for annual reviews
 - Coordinate and maintain the DiSC assessments for salaried personnel
 
Benefits
- Knowledgeable of benefits and coordinates communication efforts to new hires
 - Conduct open enrollment for employees' annual elections pertaining to health care benefits
 - Process health care claims for all benefits and distribute to appropriate personnel for payment
 - Process premium invoices for all health care benefits and distribute to appropriate personnel for payment
 - Responsible for Worker's Compensation claims, following it through from initial first report of injury until the employee returns to work. This includes filing claim with insurance carrier, communication with insurance carrier and restaurant manager regarding the claim, coordinating any light duty requests and following up on drug test results.
 
Compliance
- Coordinate training and verify compliance for appropriate employees for TIPS-certifications (safe alcoholic beverage service practice) and Food Handling certifications as per code/law
 - Audit employment files to verify that all mandatory employment paperwork is being maintained
 - Ensure that all Federal/State/Local mandatory postings are in place and the correct version
 - Responsible for the administration of leaves associated with the Family and Medical Leave Act
 - Adherence to confidentiality provisions for employee medical files

HR Coordinator Requirements
Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or related field and/or equivalent experience
 - Proven analytical and problem-solving ability
 - Excellent verbal and written communication skills
 - Excellent organizational skills
 - Experience making presentations
 - Proficient in MS Office Software
 
Work Environment/General Physical Requirements (subject to reasonable accommodation if warranted)
- Ability to maneuver in an office environment and perform general work duties associated with such an environment
 - Ability to communicate clearly with management, staff, vendors and others
 - Occasional bending, stooping, reaching above shoulder level, and lifting/carrying up to 20 pounds

Schedule
- Full-time employee, with a willingness to work a flexible schedule Monday thru Friday. May require occasional weekend and/or evening work
 - Must maintain regular attendance and must be present to work and to communicate and interact with co-workers
 - Occasional overnight travel
 - This is an Exempt status position
