Site Reliability Engineering Architect Location: Virtual/ Remote What You Will Do: We are looking for Operations Architects who will ensure operational criteria like system availability, capacity, performance, monitoring, self-healing, and deployment automation are implemented throughout the delivery process. This is a key role in leading the DevOps transformation through our tooling and by being an advocate for change and standards throughout the development, quality, release, and product organizations, transitioning to a SRE organization. We are looking for SRE's who have an appetite for change and pushing the boundaries of what can be done with automation.
All About You
- Engage in and improve the whole lifecycle of services-from inception and design, through deployment, operation and refinement.
- Analyze ITSM activities of the platform and provide feedback loop to development teams on operational gaps or resiliency concerns
- Support services before they go live through activities such as system design consulting, capacity planning and launch reviews.
- Maintain services once they are live by measuring and monitoring availability, latency and overall system health.
- Scale systems sustainably through mechanisms like automation, and evolve systems by pushing for changes that improve reliability and velocity.
- Be familiar with Cloud principles and networking & security concepts in cloud
- Experience in working across development, operations, and product teams to prioritize needs and to build relationships is a must.
- ITIL - certification is a plus
Responsibilities:
- Implementing end to end enterprise DevOps solution using Agile and DevOps methodologies leading to faster, reliable deployments.
- Experience of Infrastructure as Code automation.
- Build, develop and maintain virtualisation automation, containerized automation, monitoring and logging
- Troubleshoot, resolve and assist in issues related to containerization, virtualization, monitoring, logging, CI and CD pipelines, builds and deployments
- Participate in automation initiatives driving change and efficiencies
- Mentor and share knowledge with other members of the team
Preferred Qualifications
- BS degree in Computer Science or related technical field involving coding (e.g., physics or mathematics), or equivalent practical experience.
- Expert foundation in algorithms, data structures and core computer science concepts - able to teach/mentor others in their learning
- 10+ years of experience in multiple modern programming languages such as Java, Python, Ruby, Angular, Scala, NodeJS, etc.
- Expert level experience with monitoring tools like Splunk, Dynatrace, Kibana, Grafana
- Proficiency with cloud technologies (IaaS, PaaS, serverless technology, NoSQL databases), microservice design, CI/CD, DevOps
- Experience designing scalable fault tolerant platforms that are resilient to infrastructure failures
- Expert in using at least one of the industry leading Cloud Technologies like Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft Azure or Google Cloud.
- Expert in using at least one of the industry leading SQL/NoSQL Databases like Oracle, Cassandra, MongoDB and Distributed caching like Redis, Hazelcast, Memcached etc
What You Will Need: Education:
- High school diploma/GED with 2 years of experience, or Associate's degree, or Bachelor's degree required.
Work Experience:
- 3 years of experience preferred.
