Job Description

Apex Systems, LLC is immediately seeking a Cloud Systems Admin in support of a growing Network Security Company in Crofton, MD. The qualified individual will be supporting a US Federal Government customer and helping build out a large campus environment. You will work both independently and with other team members, as well as the client to achieve personal and programmatic goals. The qualified candidate will have experience with Azure & Office365 cloud systems administration in the Federal Government space.

Location: Washington, DC (Remote during COVID)

Duration: Direct Hire

Compensation: Competitive based on years of relevant experience & education

Clearance: Able to obtain & maintain a DOD Secret clearance

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist with datacenter migrations between on-premises datacenters to other datacenters
  • Assist with migrations from on-premises infrastructure and systems to cloud environments.
  • Support the administration of Microsoft's O365 High cloud-based software.
  • Support the administration of Microsoft's Azure U.S. Government (MAG) on BIS's
  • Support the system administration of the FISMA-High mission applications
  • Operate and maintain the network applications and tools that support the NOC cloud-based services.
  • Provide weekly, monthly and quarterly reports to management on the health, stability, utilization and any changes made to the network's infrastructure.
  • Support the documentation of new and update Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) as a result of new tools, systems and/or processes.
  • Log and track all network-related customer service requests from receipt of a request to completion of service via the ticketing tracking system in real-time.
  • Respond to and resolve help desk tickets within SLA standards via the IT Service Desk.
  • Safeguard U.S. Government-provided the property, including keys, sensitive data, personal computers, miscellaneous office equipment, and furniture, and office/storage space, etc.
  • Perform remedial maintenance after hours, during periods when it does not disrupt or impede the BIS customers.
  • Aide in performing preventative network maintenance and upgrades on network software and tools to ensure that network is operating at optimal performance.
  • Implement security patches and bug fixes to mitigate security vulnerabilities and known defects in accordance with best practices and to be compliant with DOC security policies.
  • Provide artifacts to support Accreditation and Authorization activities

Basic Qualifications:

  • Active DOD Secret clearance
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, or a related field or equivalent experience
  • 2+ years of virtual machines and on-premises datacenter management
  • 2+ years of deploying, administering, and managing cloud environments using Azure and Office365
  • Experience assisting with Datacenter to Datacenter migrations
  • Knowledge of or hand's on experience performing Datacenter to Cloud migrations
  • Experience managing and supporting Microsoft product suites.

    • VMware
    • RSA & PIV card authentication
    • Veritas Netbackup
    • NetApp file services
    • Safeboot
    • Encryption software/system
    • Mail servers
    • SAN & NAS
    • DNS
    • NTP
    • Firewalls
  • Recent experience working in a cleared or DOD SCIF environments

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Nutanix
  • Any Azure Cloud Certifications
  • DevSecOps background
  • BIS experience
  • Experience in small teams performing datacenter migration responsibilities
