Key Responsibilities
• Install, maintain, and upgrade workstation and peripheral hardware and software.
• Analyze and resolve complex workstation, application, and server related problems.
• Update desktop software/applications; maintain documentation on installed applications.
• Provide users with assistance in working in specific applications.
• Participate in the development of standard operating procedures.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
1. Active secret clearance
2. 2-4 years experience of the Linux operating system, specifically the Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7 and 8 distributions
3. 2 years experience with automated deployments of Red Hat Enterprise Linux using tools such as Kickstart (local and network installs), Clonezilla
4. Bachelor's Degree degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems or a related field of study
Required Skills
- Strong knowledge of the Linux operating system, specifically the Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7 and 8 distributions.
- Experience with automated deployments of Red Hat Enterprise Linux using tools such as Kickstart (local and network installs), Clonezilla, dd, etc.
- Experience with creating scripts using BASH, Perl, Python, or similar scripting languages to automate routine tasks.
- Strong understanding of networking concepts such as TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and firewalls and their related tasks within Red Hat Enterprise Linux.
- Experience with account management via LDAP and authentication via Kerberos, as well as Linux ACLs and PAM configurations.
-Familiarity with full disk encryption using LUKS and FIPS mode.
Preferred Skills
- Familiarity with technologies and concepts such as Samba\Winbind, sssd, realmd, RFC 2307, SIDs, and NSS/PAM libraries for LDAP, Kerberos, and sss. Knowledge of MFA using PKI and smart cards is desired.
- Familiarity with Risk Management Framework, STIGs, SCAP assessments, and Nessus/ACAS is desired.
Certifications or licenses required for this job: Candidate must be able to obtain and maintain DoD Directive 8570.1 IAT Level II compliance within 12 months of hire.
Certifications preferred: Security+, CISSP, Linux+, LPIC-1, RHCSA
