Job Description

Engineering Manager to oversee everything maintenance, engineering and capital equipment related in a 400+ union employee plant operating 24/7. This person will have 17 direct reports and 100 team members, including the Maintenance Manager reporting to them. Outside the box individual who understands engineering, maintenance and capital equipment related to packaging in addition to continuous improvement and data analytics. This plant refines and packages 14% of the category in North America and 100% west of the Mississippi.

Job Requirements:

First year compensation is at $180k with exceptional benefits

The Engineering Manager must have the ability to lead/coordinate/manage, maintenance, repair, programs and projects for a large food processing/packaging plant. In this position, he/she will be responsible for managing a team of engineers, supervisors and technicians to maintain safe, reliable, efficient operation of the refinery. He/she will report directly to the Refinery Manager and work in a team environment with the other department heads.

  • Bachelor's degree in ChE, Electrical or Mechanical engineering, MBA preferred
  • Plus 7 or more years' experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Oversee the implementation of and maintenance of the predictive and preventative maintenance programs and other reliability improvement initiatives.
  • Manage the Reliability Engineer, Boiler & Power House Engineer, Maintenance Superintendent and his staff, Electrical Engineer, Controls Engineering Group and with the other department heads on both daily and long term plans to insure that all of the various department's goals are aligned.

ยท Someone with experience building preventative maintenance plans in an industrial manufacturing environment is key.

  • Hands on change agent that has the ability to mentor/coach the team and hold people accountable for their actions.
  • Experience working in a unionized environment required.
