Job Description

UVA Medical Center is seeking an IT Associate 1 to join the Department of Biomedical Operations. The IT Associate will: demonstrate a basic understanding of engineering disciplines including electronics pneumatics mechanical systems basic; TCP/IP networking; desktop computing and human physiology; be responsible for installing/performing preventive and corrective maintenance; perform quality assurance and accident investigation for medical technology and be responsible for maintenance and calibration of medical equipment while maintaining compliance with safely rules codes practices and policies.

Duties Include:
  • Analyzes medical device performance through the completion of preventive maintenance (PM).
  • Performs calibration of sophisticated medical devices using various test equipment and through the design of patient simulators.
  • Completes repairs on minor to complex medical equipment.
  • Maintains UVA medical equipment inventory system.
  • Complies with all safety rules codes practices and policies.
  • Performs initial inspections on medical equipment.
  • In addition to the above job responsibilities, other duties may be assigned.


MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Education: High School or Post High School Tech Training.

Licensure: Valid Driver s license required.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

This is primarily a sedentary job involving extensive use of desktop computers. The job does occasionally require walking some distance to attend meetings, and programs.
Position Compensation Range: $16.35 - $26.15 Hourly
