Job Summary
Oversee the day to day operations of the volunteer services. Included in this role, but not limited to: interviews potential volunteers, ensures adequate volunteer coverage and scheduling for departments, coordinates volunteer project requests, coordinates volunteer/recognition events (may include coordinating, facilitating, and documenting the regional recognition program), manages the database, and assists and supports the onboarding, orientation, and exit process of
volunteers. Manage the transportation services for the community. Providing clerical support functions: including, but not limited to: ensuring both driver and vehicle compliance with the Department of Transportation rules and regulations, coordinating and scheduling transportation.
Additional duties include ensuring drivers remain compliant with our policies and standards.
Also, manage conflict and act as a liaison between drivers and residents. This role also, assists with responsibilities of supervising, planning, and directing the scope of the driving program for the community.
Excellent written and oral communication skills, including English usage, grammar, punctuation, and style. Ability to use appropriate reference materials.
Must be self-directed with a high level of accountability and minimal supervision. Must be able to multi-task, and function as a resource for employees. Must have a high level of customer service, public relations, training and
problem solving skills.
Must be able to utilize all office equipment including personal computer and application software, printer, FAX, copier, multi-line telephone system.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Post secondary education, preferred.
Two years experience in transportation services. Leadership capabilities and organizational skills. Excellent communication skills. Prefer typing skills at 50 wpm.
A valid driver's license is required.
