NOVA Workforce is seeking TESOL instructors to teach one-day intensive teacher-development workshops in task-based and problem-based learning as part of our non-credit TESOL Certificate Program
This posting is designed to build a pool of potential instructors for TESOL. There may or may not be any positions currently available, however, in order to be considered for current/future openings, please follow the application process.
Duties include but are not limited to:
•Teach one-day intensive teacher-development workshops on Saturdays
•Demonstrate and explain current ESL teaching methodologies in task-based and problem-based learning to student teachers.
•Utilize the program PowerPoints, required readings, and rubrics.
•Provide examples of teaching task-based and problem-based learning from your own experience.
•Evaluate student teaching demonstrations and in-class written assignments using program rubrics.
•Utilize Canvas for course information and student assignments/resources.
•Masters in TESOL or Masters in Linguistics with a minor in TESOL/TESOL Certificate.
•Previous teacher-training experience
•Previous adult ESL teaching experience at a college/community college
•Masters in TESOL
•Several years of teacher-training experience at a college or community college level
•Deep knowledge of communicative language teaching methodologies: task-based and problem-based.
•Excellent organizational skills and classroom management skills
•Ability to work with groups of varying ages and skill levels - including differentiating instruction
•Ability to utilize program rubrics to grade student teaching demonstrations
•Excellent written and verbal communication skills
•Ability to work individually as well as on a team
Applicants who do not have documented student teacher-training experience nor hold a Masters in TESOL or Masters in Linguistics with a minor in TESOL/TESOL Certificate will not be considered.
