Student Services Specialist

9:00am-3:00pm Monday-Friday

Long Term Temporary position

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree in Education or related field

Two (2) years of relevant work experience (similar to duries listed below)

Knowledge of Education Opportunity Center (EOC) program service areas (i.e. Escambia and Santa Rosa counties)

Good communication and office management skills preferred

Description:

• Collect and assemble information on the academic and financial assistance opportunities in the surrounding target area
• Promote the purpose and services provided by the EOC
• Recruit and select participants who are eligible and need project services
• Provide the information and personal assistance necessary to assess and place participants in postsecondary education programs
• Assist participants in completing applications for financial aid and admissions
• Administer and interpret career interest inventories
• Manage student records
• Participate in the program evaluation, on-going monitoring and reporting
• Collarborate and work cooperatively with area schools and agencies
• Counsel participants to overcome obstacles to educational success
