Experience and Education
High school graduation or GED plus successful completion of vocational training in computer programming and five (5) years experience in computer operation and/or programming, including at least one (1) year as Programmer Analyst I or equivalent.
Specific Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the analysis, design and development of coding complex SQL queries, stored procedures and functions to support the application.
- Create technical specifications for new project requests. Troubleshoot, debug the applications and interfaces supported and recommend programming solutions.
- Develops efficient programming techniques and assist with the testing and validation of the code developed. Support department coding standards and adhere to best practices
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Preferred Skillset:
- Oracle experience writing complex SQL and PL/SQL queries
- Linux experience a plus.
Job Duties
- Defines and analyzes problems of moderate complexity or assists user personnel in analyzing and defining such problems for computer solutions.
- Designs computer system to accomplish solution of each problem, integrating computer capabilities with user requirements.
- Reanalyzes problem if computer cannot handle original design effectively; makes modifications as necessary.
- Selects or modifies existing programs or program systems as applicable and structures data formats for solution of problems.
- Implements systems or job streams.
- Estimates resources required for project and planning purposes.
- Schedules computer hardware to effect more economical use of existing equipment.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
