UT Southwestern (UTSW) Medical Center s has an immediate need for an experienced Operating Room (OR) Pharmacy Technician at the William P. Clements Jr. University Hospital (CUH) in Dallas. The OR pharmacy technician s primary responsibilities include:
This OR Pharmacy Technician will primarily be scheduled rotating day, mid-day and evenings shifts with some weekends. Shifts are subject to change based on business needs.
New UTSW employees hired into this position will eligible for up to, $2,000 retention bonus - $1,000 paid after 6 months of employment and another $1,000 paid after 12 months of employment.
EXPERIENCE and EDUCATION
Must have previous experience as a pharmacy technician in an operating room (OR) or ambulatory surgical center setting and, at least, two (2) years overall of paid work experience as a licensed pharmacy technician.
Sterile compounding (IV) certification accredited by ACPE for inpatient, infusion and/or specified retail environments is a minimum requirement.
Must have a current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification with course accredited by the American Heart Association (AHA).
Registration with Texas State Board of Pharmacy (TSBP) as a Registered Technician or Pharmacist Intern is required and national certification with Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) is preferred.
High school diploma or equivalent is required. Candidate must provide documentation (unofficial transcripts or diploma) to verify highest level of education.
Basic computer skills, data entry, filing is essential. Ability to communicate in English (speaking, reading, and writing) is required. Must have good general health and stress coping ability.
Position requires moderate physical effort: prolonged standing/walking, occasional lifting/carrying (up to 25 lbs), reaching, bending, crouching, etc.
