Eaton's Motors Center of Excellence, a part of our Aerospace division, is currently seeking a Lead Motor Engineer to join our team. This position will be based out of either our Grand Rapids or Southfield, MI office.
Position Overview:This position reports to the Electrical Engineering Manager within the SwEC COE primarily supporting development of motors for electromechanical actuators and fuel and hydraulic pumps.
This candidate will be expected to participate in motor topology selection and perform the electromagnetic design of motors for aerospace motors. Expected motor types will be AC induction and Brushless DC, with Brushless DC expected to be the primary architecture for new programs.

In this function you will:
Participate in new product development teams to provide motor expertise in architecture trade off studies
Assist in and provide recommendations for motor types and motor sizing with collaboration from product team and electronic motor controller team
Electromagnetic design of Brushless DC and/or AC induction motors using magnetic modeling tools
Assist in motor packaging and mechanical design with mechanical engineering and drafting resources
Recommend development testing for motors, write development test procedures and reports, support the test engineering group for performing the testing
