Duties
- We are looking for a team player to join the Early Discovery Biochemistry department (Daniel Kirchhofer lab).
- S/he will join an ongoing project to discover peptide-based inhibitors of an identified disease-associated protein.
- S/he will construct and screen phage-displayed peptide libraries and analyze hits by use of enzymatic assays and by SPR.
- S/he will handle biohazardous and cytotoxic materials and adhere to corporate safety standards in all aspects of the work.
- S/he will use automated liquid handling systems and robotic systems and will analyze data and report results using specialized software in multiple assay methodologies.
- S/he will maintain GLP/====P compliance in supporting clinical and nonclinical studies and will apply thorough and accurate documentation skills.
Skills
- The candidate has a background in either biochemistry, protein chemistry or protein engineering and has strong communication and organizational skills, is dependable and applies high scientific standards. Experience with phage display technology is a must.
- Strong organizational, communication, interpersonal skills, team-oriented, dependable, and self-starter. Ability to follow detailed verbal and written instruction. Able to apply analytical skills and judgment in assessing the quality of assay data and assay performance. Must be self-motivated, able to multi-task, and meet timelines efficiently and productively. Experience preferably in a testing environment that includes HPLC/ELISA with GLP/GMP knowledge.
Education: PhD/MA (or BA with professional experience)
