Job Description

Our team is seeking an engineering leader to drive security and resiliency into our products by design. Cyber has existed on information systems and home computers for years. This team is on the bleeding edge of applying those lessons and more to complex and rigorous embedded systems. If you want to influence and lead in a new and emerging engineering capability, this is the place to do it! This role is not a traditional IT focused Cybersecurity or Cyber Analyst role.
You will join the SSM Product Security organization which is a growing multi-disciplinary engineering organization that is responsible for the security and resiliency of many products across the St. Louis / St. Charles and Oklahoma City sites; such as Weapons (Cruise Missiles/Direct Attack), F-15, F/A-18, MQ-25, T-7A, AWACS, B-52, and more. Cross-training among platforms may become available as the candidate acclimates to the Direct Attack portfolio of programs.
You will have the chance to lead and execute diverse technical activities and to coordinate with a variety of stakeholders. Candidates seeking to broaden their engineering skill set, improve their project management capabilities, and grow as leaders are encouraged to apply.
We are looking for strong systems thinkers and natural integrators with diverse interests and experience to help apply different lenses on the engineering security architecture. We're seeking engineers with robust backgrounds in fields including - but not limited to - Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, Avionics, Software Engineering, and Mission Systems. Experience with cybersecurity is desired but not required. Strong technical backgrounds are the key markers of the successful candidate; we will teach the candidate "Cyber" once they are on board. We have developed several tailored classroom training experiences to accelerate the candidate's knowledge acquisition of cybersecurity.
Strong leadership skills are a must as you will be involved with activities, such as collaboration with program leadership, Statement of Work (SOW)/technical specification development, project planning, cyber design, development, integration and test, delegation, technical oversight, and presenting at major program meetings.
You will also need to be a strong communicator and comfortable working with a multitude of engineering design groups such as Mission Systems, Systems Engineering, Information Security, Security & Fire Protection, Supplier Management, and Program Office technical/management staff. External stakeholders may include major and sub-tier suppliers, active duty military, and government office personnel.
As the level of responsibility increases, the role on the team may require obtaining certifications such as Security+ or CISSP to comply with contract requirements.
This role is based in Hazelwood, MO. Travel is not expected to exceed 10% of the candidate's working time.
