JOB DESCRIPTION:
SAIC is currently looking to hire a Junior Cloud Software Engineer to join the STG team in Huntsville, AL.
As a member of an Agile Team for the Solutions and Technology Group (STG), selected candidate will be a member of a highly-skilled and motivated team responsible for the assessment, design and implementation of solutions in a variety of software applications and integrated systems.
Agile Teams at SAIC are responsible for initiating new project startups, participating in technical demonstrations in support of bids and proposals, supporting existing project surge needs, as well as research and development of cutting edge solutions & are currently expanding to support a new project initiation for the Air Force.
Responsibilities Include:
- The candidate will work with various Air Force and Army C#/.NET and Java applications, enhancing and migrating them to the Amazon Web Services (AWS) or Microsoft Azure Cloud Computing Environments (CCE).
- Candidate will be required to collaborate with other Agile Team members and engineers outside of Huntsville and outside of SAIC for software development activities and general integration.
- Candidate needs to be able to quickly learn cloud-computing concepts, and work with potential application migration customers within the DoD community.
- As expected, candidate will be developing using an Agile development environment, using various SecDevOps tools, such as Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket (Git), Jenkins, and Docker.
Qualifications
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Bachelors and 0 years of experience; 4 years of experience can be used in lieu of a degree.
Clearance: Must be able to obtain a Secret Security clearance
Required Skills:
- The ideal candidate should be literate using Linux/Windows development and build environments, as well as standard Visual Studio and Eclipse / NetBeans -based IDEs and other O/S command line tools.
- General knowledge of experience with Linux O/S and Windows O/S commands, and a good understanding of the C# and Java programming languages
- Should have basic understanding of UI/UX concepts, both application and web-facing. Should be able to analyze, refactor, compile and test source code.
- Must be able to understand and utilize Git configuration management tools.
- U nderstanding of cloud computing principles is required.
- Understanding of basic object-oriented concepts and complex data structures is required.
Desired Skills:
- Certifications with Amazon CCE/S3/EC2/CloudFront is a plus.
- Experience/Certifications with Microsoft Azure CCE is a plus.
- React/Angular UX experience a plus.
- Scrum Master and/or Product Owner experience/certification is a plus; or any DevSecOps certificaitons is a plus
