One of the world's leaders in materials science, our client has an opening for an Electrical Technician to work onsite in Wilmington, NC. There will also be travel to other NC locations. While this is a 3 month contract position it has the potential to extend to 24 months.

The ideal candidate will have prior experience with AutoCAD 2017 and AutoCAD Electrical 2017.

Responsibilities:



  • Provide electrical equipment designs, schematics, and layouts on CAD based formats (AutoCAD 2017, AutoCAD Electrical 2017).
  • Provide sketches or redline existing drawings as needed and follow-up with drafting services or oversee draftsmen to resolve design issues.
  • Perform troubleshooting, process start-up, design, and documentation of Mechanical and Electrical Systems for new or modified production equipment.
  • Interpret and modify existing documentation to complete drawing packages, installation checklists, machine part lists, illustrations, and machine specs of production equipment.
  • Provide third-level troubleshooting support, directing contract engineering techs and trades to replace defective components and execute changes in design and solve equipment/process issues.
  • Electro-mechanical troubleshooting, proficient with pneumatic and electrical schematics.

Requirements:



  • Associates Degree in Electrical Engineering
  • 5+ years of experience in engineering/manufacturing setting
  • AutoCAD 2017, AutoCAD Electrical 2017
  • Windows 7, MS Office (Power Point, Excel, Word)
  • Beckhoff PLC / Motion Control, B-R Control, Automated equipment systems

Preferred Skills:



  • Certifications preferred
  • PLC programming experience is a plus

General Comments:



  • Hours are 40 hours per week with a potential for up to 10 hours of overtime.
  • Potential travel to other NC locations is likely.
