Job Description

The Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) organization is seeking an experienced Equipment and Tool Engineer to provide support to the F-15 program. This position is for 1st. shift.
Position Responsibilities:
  • Leads the development of highly complex equipment and tooling concepts and specifications to satisfy aerospace product design and build requirements.
  • Leads design reviews, design requirement collection, drawing creation and revision.
  • Researches the application of robotics, automation and new technology to support the build plan.
  • Creates off-load packages, specifications, purchase requests and usage instructions for equipment and tooling.
  • Checks designs for compliance with safety, producibility, maintainability, reliability, ergonomic factors and regulatory requirements.
  • Establishes and validates spares requirements.
  • Leads the implementation of best practices into functional process documentation to drive standard work.
  • Oversees the development and documentation of equipment and tooling inspection and usage instructions, preventative maintenance plans, and user training.
  • Provides technical direction to support engineering changes and discrepancy resolution.
  • Oversees the maintenance of hardware and software configuration.
  • Assesses and makes recommendations for disposition of equipment and tooling.
This position requires the ability to obtain a US Security Clearance for which the US Government requires US Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. secret clearance Post Start is required.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills and Experience)
  • Technical Bachelor's Degree.
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills and Experience)
  • Experience in Tooling and/or Tooling Quality.
  • Experience with 3D Modeling.
  • Bachelor's of Science in Mechanical, Aerospace, Industrial, or Manufacturing Engineering (ABET Preferred).
  • E xperience with Teamcenter Engineering, Model Based Definition, and Model Based Instructions processes and procedures is desirable.
  • Knowledge of working documents such as Engineering/Manufacturing Bill of Materials, Lean Manufacturing, Root Cause Corrective Action.
  • Candidate should have hands-on attitude and willingness to see challenges through to completion.
  • Ability to develop low cost and rapid equipment and tooling would be very desirable.
Typical Education/Experience:
Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD, Master+3 years' related work experience ). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
