Quality Control Manager (Substation EPC Projects) Location: Site Based Schedule: 60-70 hours per week Position Overview The Quality Control Manager is responsible for leading and managing all quality assurance and quality control activities across substation EPC projects. This role ensures that construction, fabrication, and installation activities meet all contractual requirements, industry standards, and regulatory codes. The position combines technical expertise, leadership, and continuous improvement to drive quality performance across engineering, procurement, and construction phases. Key Responsibilities Develop, implement, and maintain quality control programs, procedures, and standards aligned with EPC and utility substation construction Ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards, and regulatory requirements across all project phases Review construction documents including drawings, specifications, contracts, and procurement packages to ensure quality requirements are clearly defined and met Lead quality improvement initiatives through root cause analysis, trend evaluation, and data driven decision making Analyze quality metrics and prepare reports for leadership to support project performance and strategic planning Collaborate with engineering, procurement, construction, and fabrication teams to resolve quality issues and implement corrective actions Provide training, mentorship, and guidance to project teams on quality standards, procedures, and best practices Act as a subject matter expert on quality control, staying current with industry changes and updating internal processes accordingly Qualifications Bachelor's degree in a related field plus 2+ years of construction quality experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience 10+ years of quality control experience on large scale construction projects, preferably substations, transmission, or utility infrastructure OSHA 30 certification required Strong knowledge of construction codes and standards across electrical, mechanical, and civil scopes Familiarity with regulatory requirements applicable to utility and infrastructure projects Proven ability to read and interpret construction documents including drawings and specifications Demonstrated leadership, communication, and team management skills Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast paced environment Preferred Experience Experience with EPC execution models for substation or utility projects Background supporting fabrication shops or equipment installation related to substations Experience with quality systems, audits, and continuous improvement methodologies FootBridge is an equal opportunity employer committed to an inclusive environment where everyone is valued and respected.
