ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include, but are not limited to, the following. Determine vehicles condition by conducting inspections and diagnostic tests; identifying worn and damaged parts. Keep equipment available for use by completing preventative maintenance schedules; installing components and part upgrades. Promote sales of labor, parts and accessories to meet customer needs. Perform requested labor operations using recommended procedures, tools and equipment. Document work performed with proper story and technical information as well as document any additional worked needed and not performed. Correct vehicle deficiencies by removing, repairing, adjusting, overhauling, assembling, disassembling, and replacing major assemblies, sub-assemblies, components, parts or systems, such as power and drive trains, electrical, air conditioning, fuel, emissions, brake, steering, hydraulics; completes machine shop operations; making adjustments and alignments including bearing loads, gear tooth contact, valve mechanisms, governors, oil systems, control linkages, clutches and traction units. Order parts according to dealership procedures. Verify vehicle performance by conducting test drives; adjusting controls and systems as needed. Comply with federal and state vehicle requirements by completing proper inspections. Contains costs by using warranty, evaluating service and parts options. Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading technical and regulation publications. Maintain vehicle appearance by cleaning and washing as necessary. Use of power tools, welders, and hand tools to complete necessary repairs. Maintain tools, equipment and work area. Identify any necessary repairs of shop equipment to supervisor and assist in preventative maintenance of shop equipment. Lifting of parts, materials, and tools weighing up to and possibly exceeding 75 pounds. Assistance to co-workers in successful completion of repairs. Maintenance of a level of cleanliness that is required by immediate supervisor. Exercise honesty, integrity and respect with all clients and co-workers.
