Cardiac Catherization Technologist PRN JOB SUMMARY The Cardiac Cath Lab Radiology Technologist (RT) will provide direct patient care to cardiac patients and communicate with the physician continuously to ensure patient safety during procedures. Working with the Cardiac Service Line Leaders, the Cath Lab Radiology Tech (RT) assesses, plans, implements and collaborates with other departments to ensure excellence in patient and family care, reflective of CCH mission, vision, and values. The Radiology Tech (RT) will integrate departmental goals for improvement across the care continuum. The Cath Lab Rad tech may be an RT or an RCIS. The Radiology Tech (RT) practices within the framework of the professional standards of their certifying organization. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Assists in providing patient care to Cardiac Catheterization lab patient populations. Provides technical skills necessary to assist the physician performing the procedure. Assists cardiologist and team in recording, storing, retrieving, and analyzing data (angiographic images, procedural documentation and hemodynamic monitoring) obtained during interventional cardiovascular procedures. Demonstrates thorough understanding of cardiac interventional equipment and supplies, utilizing critical thinking skills to resolve complex procedural situations. Supports and maintains a culture of safety, service, and quality. Will monitor, scrub on all Cath Lab procedures. Assists with preparation of radiologic and other laboratory equipment to be used during the procedure while adhering to principles of aseptic technique. Working with the Cardiac Service Line Leaders, the Cath Lab Radiology Tech (RT) assesses, plans, implements and collaborates with other departments to ensure excellence in patient and family care, reflective of CCH mission, vision, and values. The Radiology Tech (RT) will integrate departmental goals for improvement across the care continuum. The Cath Lab Rad tech may be an RT or an RCIS. The Radiology Tech (RT) practices within the framework of the professional standards of their certifying organization. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Assists in providing patient care to Cardiac Catheterization lab patient populations. Provides technical skills necessary to assist the physician performing the procedure. Assists cardiologist and team in recording, storing, retrieving, and analyzing data (angiographic images, procedural documentation and hemodynamic monitoring) obtained during interventional cardiovascular procedures. Demonstrates thorough understanding of cardiac interventional equipment and supplies, utilizing critical thinking skills to resolve complex procedural situations. Supports and maintains a culture of safety, service, and quality. Will monitor, scrub on all Cath Lab procedures. Assists with preparation of radiologic and other laboratory equipment to be used during the procedure while adhering to principles of aseptic technique. Maintains and evaluates equipment, and troubleshoots equipment as needed. Provides service excellence to all customers. Demonstrates efficient time management and prioritization skills.
